El Grouso is hosted by Annie and Al in Renwick, Marlborough. This policy explains how information is used on our website. Updated 15 September 2026.

When you get in touch.

Our contact form collects your name, email address and message so Annie and Al can answer your enquiry. Providing these details is voluntary, but we need them to reply through the form. Please do not include payment details or sensitive personal information.

Messages are processed by our website host, Vercel, and delivered using Resend to the hosts’ email inbox. These providers and our email service may process information outside New Zealand. We use your details to respond and manage your enquiry, not to add you to a marketing list. Enquiries are kept only for as long as needed to respond, follow up and meet any applicable record-keeping requirements.

Website analytics.

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand which pages are useful and improve the website. It provides aggregated information such as page visits, referring websites, approximate location, browser and device type. It does not use advertising cookies. Names, email addresses and contact-form messages are not sent to analytics.

What stays in your browser.

Saved places in the Marlborough guide and your motion preference are stored in your browser’s local storage. Use “Clear shortlist” in the guide to remove saved places, or clear this website’s data in your browser settings. If browser storage is unavailable, the page still works and your choices last for this visit.

Maps, bookings and other websites.

The Google Maps embed connects to Google when it loads. Google receives technical information such as your IP address and may use cookies under its privacy policy. Reservations, payments and booking messages take place on Airbnb under Airbnb’s privacy terms. Other businesses and Facebook have their own policies when you follow their links.

Your choices and questions.

You can ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you, or raise a privacy concern, by emailing elgrouso@gmail.com. We may need to check your identity before responding. If your concern remains unresolved, you can contact New Zealand’s Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
